Makeup & Hair

I love Hanna's hair and makeup,it is so girly and I always get inspiration. 

Hanna's eyes always pop so look for shadows that will help your eyes stand out! Her eyes are also lined which can also help your eyes stand out. Hanna's lips are usually pink and have gloss. 

Her hair is usually curled but sometimes she has really pretty hairstyles. One of my favourites is the one she is wearing in the picture. It is basically braiding both sides of your bangs and clipping them in the back.

Outfit

Hanna is always dresses girly with a bit of edge. For example, having a girly dress and pairing it with a blazer. She also loves accessories; belts, necklaces, purses, everything! She uses them to dress up her outfits and help define her waist. Here are some clothes I could see her wearing:

Maybelline Bouncy Blush vs. Dream Mousse Blush!

Maybelline released their newest blush awhile ago. I was curious about the difference between that and their old (now discontinued) dream mousse blush. 

I have both blushes in the same shade (10 Pink Frosting) and I am going to be comparing them on pigmentation, application, and packaging!

Pigmentation

I was looking online and saw that people found the dream mousse blush more pigmented. I found the complete opposite! The mousse blush was more sheer and the bouncy blush had more colour to it. The Mousse blush also had a lot more shimmer than the bouncy blush. 

Application

I find both of the blush apply the same. I couldn't find any major difference between them. Except the mousse blush was more creamy.

Packaging
I LOVE the entire concept of bouncy blush it is so cool! It is actually bounces when you touch it! I also like how it is more compact than the mousse blush that way you can carry it with you or fit it in your collection a lot easier.

Overall, I like bouncy blush a lot better than the mousse blush.

lace nails ♥

Hey Girls!

Lace nails are my favourite thing ever! I think they are so girly and great for events or just everyday! They also would make a great accent nail. I found a way to get them online that just needs nail polish (if you want it to be like the picture I would suggest turquoise and caicos by Essie), top coat, scissors, toothpick and lace!

STOP KONY

I am sure a lot of you heard about Joseph Kony. 

If not he is the worlds number one war criminal. He is in Uganda and abducts children at night and makes the boys into child soldiers and the girls get rapped. 

Invisable children is trying to make him famous, not to celebrate him but to let people know who he is so the goverment will help capture him.

Skincare: Sunscreen = Best Friend ♥

Hey Guys!

I am starting a new series all about skin care! It will have how to get nice skin and tips for keeping it healthy :) 

The sun is one of skins number one enemy because it can cause lines, dark spots, speed up aging and you can even get skin cancer.

You may think that sunscreen is only for spring/summer but the truth is its important all year round. 

You can wear a lower SPF in winter like 15 and a summer you can move to one with a higher rating. There are some foundations (like MAC) that has SPF in it, this can be good for the winter months because usually they don't have high ratings. 

Picking Your Sunscreen

When selecting a sunscreen pick one that protects against UVA and UVB rays. You also should buy a new sunscreen each year because it does expire. You should also wear waterproof sunscreen if your swimming or working out. Also remember the difference between sunscreen and sunblock. Sunscreen can be less protecting than a block. It is good if you are spending a small amount of time outside because it can let in some UV rays. A sunblock completely blocks all the UV rays, it is good for when your outside for a long period of time (like playing soccer, or laying on the beach). It is also a lot thicker. 

How To Apply It

You should apply sunscreen once a day (preferably in the morning) 30 minutes before you leave. When applying it to your face make sure it is clean, cool, and dry skin. Apply your makeup after you put on your sunscreen. 

Reapply sunscreen after swimming, working out, etc (even if it is waterproof!). Sunscreen is suppose to last around 2 hours.

You should use 2 tablespoons of sunscreen for your entire body.

I don't really like this dress because of the red bow on the top of it. But I do think that Emma looked really pretty and I loved her accessories.

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie

They looked so GOOD! I loved Angelina's dress! It is structured, black, a slit and really pretty fabric.I also like how she had her classic red lip. Brad also looked very handsome. 

Jennifer Lopez

I think she looked gorgeous. I loved her dress, I also liked her hair.

Stacy Keilbler & George Clooney

I want her dress. I love the metallic gold colour and the flower detail on the side. She looked stunning! George also looked really good.

Gwyneth Paltrow

This is such a chic outfit! I love the cape <3 I think she pulled off this look! It was one of my favourites of the night!

What's your favourite nail polish company?

My favourite nail polish company is a tie between OPI and Essie. I really like Essie's collections but I like OPI's general colour selection. 
Glitter or no glitter?

No glitter. I have some glitter polishes and I find them way to hard to take off. I don't mind the look of them though.
OPI, China Glaze, or Essie?

Tough question. I would say Essie, just because it is easier for me to get Essie rather than OPI and China Glaze and I don't mind Essie colours.
When do you change your nail polish?

I change my nail polish around once a week.
What's your favourite color on your nails?

Hmm...Revlon Copper Penny & Essie Smooth Sailing (I can't choose between them!)
Darks or Brights?

BRIGHTS! :) I love neon nail polishes and I only have a few dark nail polishes that I wear in the winter :P

I am wearing Mesmerized by Essie. It is a really pretty blue colour.
Matte Nails--In or Out?

I personally don't like matte nails.

Fitness: The Couch Workout!

I was looking through weheartit and found this picture! It is from Glamour magazine written by Shaun Dreisbach designed by Bally Total Fitness.

I thought it was the coolest thing! It is great to do if your watching your favourite show and still want to work out. I will type out all the moves because it might be hard to read:

Sofa Squat

What it works: Your butt and thighs

Sit on edge of couch with feet hip-width apart, knees aligned directly over ankles. Stand, place hands on hips, then bend knees and squat down to sit on couch, but only let your butt tap the edge, as shown; return to standing. Do two sets of 15 reps.

Cushion Crunch

What it works: Your abs and obliques

Lie on couch and straighten legs; extend arms overhead by ears. Lift leg towards ceiling, keeping it straight, as you lift shoulders off couch and reach both hands for left toes, as shown; pause, then lower to start. Do 15 reps, switch legs and repeat. Do two sets.

Split Lunge

What it works: Your thighs and calves

Stand in front of your couch; extend left leg back, resting on ball of foot on couch, hands on hips. Bend knee 90 degrees as shown (don't let knee go past toes); pass through heel and return to start. Do 15 reps, switch legs and repeat. Do two sets. 

Incline Push-up

What it works: Your chest, arms and shoulders

Place hands shoulder-width apart on edge or arm of couch; walk feet back so legs are straight and you're up on toes. Bend elbows and lower chest towards couch, as shown; push back up. Do as many as you can with abs pulled in and hips aligned. Rest and repeat.

Remote Rear Fly

What it works: Your back and shoulder

Lie face down on couch, left arm off edge and extended towards floor, holding the remote or any light weight object as shown. Raise remote up and out too shoulder height, squeezing shoulder blades together, pause, lower to start. Do 15 reps, switch sides and repeat. Do two sets.

Red Carpet: Grammy Awards! ♥

Hey Girls!

Grammy Awards is such a fun award night where people can go all out with their outfits! Here are just some of the dresses from the night...

Taylor Swift looked stunning! It was one of my favourite looks! The dress is so detailed and well designed. 

Kelly Rowland. I find the top of the dress really unique and pretty. Overall I think she looks beautiful. 

Nicki Minaj. I got a better understanding of what she wore on the red carpet (and being with a bishop) after watching her performance of Roman Holiday. Her look wasn't my favourite.

Carrie Underwood. I really liked her dress. It looks really elegant and I love the fabric. I was also in love with the dress she wore during her performance! So pretty <3 

Katy Perry. I don't really like this dress. I was watching the Grammy's and people were saying how they loved it but it's not my cup of tea. 

Adele! She defiantly stole the show winning 6 awards and singing amazingly after having throat surgery! It was so cute when she was crying while accepting Album of the year <333 Adele also looked fabulous in her dress!

Rosie and Sophia Grace. These girls are so adorable!! They got to interview some stars for Ellen and wore pink and gold tutu's and golden crowns :) 

There were so many more amazing dresses like Adele, Paris Hilton, and Jesse J. Congratulations to everyone that won!

Valentines's Day Treats! ♥

Hey Everyone!

Valentine's day is only a few days away! I thought it would be cute to show some of my favourite treats and what I am going to might be making this year :)

Cupid's Cups. This is my favourite treat, I make it all year round! The main ingredients are jello and cool whip. Check out the recipe here. 

These are so cute! They are Mini Heart Shaped Cake! Don't they look like those little candies?? So adorable!! Get the recipe here. 

This looks so GOOD! It is a Frozen Chocolate "Souffles". I am totally making this! Learn how to make it here :) 

This is a cute little "heart" drink to make in the morning. I would love waking up to this! The recipe for this drink is here. 

Other Ideas...

Some other good recipe ideas include chocolate covered strawberries (of course!) and brownies (or cookies) in the shape of hearts!

Get The Look: Aria Montgomery

Hey Girls!

Makeup & Hair 

For Aria's makeup I would start off with your everyday foundation & any natural coloured blush.

Her eyes are doll like and she likes to use eyeliner to make them pop. I would use black liner on your top lash line and line your waterline half way (from the outer corner to the middle). She also has really voluminous lashes, use any volumizing mascara or fake lashes. Aria's eyebrows also frame her face, I would suggest filling them in to make them more bold. For shadow she tends to create neutral smokey eyes. Her lips vary. Sometimes she wears deep colours and other times neutral. I would use a berry lip stick because I notice that she wears that colour the most. 

Here is a entire makeup tutorial from my favourite beauty guru, missglamorazzi :) 

For hair it is usually down and has a loose curl. To get that look use a large barrel curler (1 inch and up). Her hair is also very shiny so I would suggest any shine product.

Outfit

Aria defiantly has a more edgy and unique way of dressing compared to the other girls. She is not afraid to try new pieces (like her neon yellow shoes in last weeks episode). She also likes to layer and accessorize. Aria tends to wear girly dresses and a leather jacket over it (her main statement piece).

Taylor Swift in This Month's Issue of Vogue! ♥

Hey Girls! 

I am in love with this months Vogue! As soon as I heard that Taylor Swift was going to be on the cover I wanted it.
 Inside there is an article about what she was like back when she was a kid, her sense of style, her music, and more. I think that Taylor is so down to earth and amazing, and I am SO excited for her new album (they talk about it a bit in the article).

I am also really loving Taylor with bangs! I heard in an interview that Vogue wanted to give Taylor bangs so they were trying to use fake ones, but Taylor told them “Oh, just cut it. It’s Vogue"
I really hope she decides to keep them for a while because they look so good on her!

Get the Look: Spencer Hastings

Hey Girls! 

The Pretty Little Liar's season has just began so I thought it would be fun to do a get the look on all four. I will try to do one once a week starting with Spencer Hastings. 

Makeup & Hair

Spencer has a very natural look. Her skin is bare and clean. I would suggest tinted mostrizer or a light foundation (like covergirl naturlux) and add blush. Her eyes are very neutral. I would suggest any champagne or light brown colours for the lid, you could also not use any shadow at all! For liner try a brown shadow or a black pencil liner (tightline and waterline). Next add your favourite mascara! For lips she usually wears a nude colour. 

Her hair is usually down and has a bit of curl to it. I would suggest getting a 1 inch curling wand and curl your hair then brush it out. Doing this will give loose wavy curls. 

Outfit

I really like Spencer's style. I think my style would be a mix between her and Hanna, so I usually get a lot of inspiration from them :)

I would describe her style as preppy, she also has a vintage feel to her outfits. She usually wears dresses, blazers, oxford flats. She has a very professional look, probably because fer family expects so much from her. I put together some clothes that I could see Spencer wearing:

It's Friday, Friday, Gotta Get Down On Friday! 

I hope you guys had a good  Friday the 13th!! Now, do you guys think it's bad luck or good luck? I use to think it was bad luck but then it was Taylor Swift's favourite day (because she loves the number 13) so I gotta thinking it could be lucky. I am not sure, but put it in the comments if you think its lucky or not!

1) Mood: Tired and a bit stressed! I don't really know why I am so tired! I just got back from school and all I want to do right now is take a nap! Good thing I can sleep in tomorrow! <3 I am stressed because exams are coming up in a few weeks! I think I might start making some study notes this weekend....

2) What did you eat for breakfast this morning? Nothing. I never have breakfast. I know, I know it is the most important meal of the day, but I just don't have time/I feel sick when I eat in the morning. I want to start eatting breakfast though!

New Nail Polish Collection: Hunger Games

Hey Girls!

China Glaze just released what colours will be in their new nail polish collection for the Hunger Games and I am in so excited!!

The colours are so beautiful! There are 12 different shades because of the 12 different districts in the Hunger Games. 

The colours that I am planning on getting is Dress Me Up, Smoke and Ashes, Argo and Riveting. I don't have any colours like these in my collection and I love them so much! 

The colours come out in march along with the movie (the movie comes out March 23). It cannot come soon enough! 

I think a lot of the polishes are unique and that can tie any outfit together :)

♥ Top 11 Beauty Products of 2011 ♥

Hey Girls! 

2011 is over so it is time to do my top 11 beauty products of 2011! :) It was really hard to figure out what products I liked best but I think I narrowed it down! 

MAC Blush in Mocha

This was my first ever blush from MAC. I got it as a present from my friend Martha. I am now obsessed with MAC blush, and I really want to try out some other ones! Anyway, it is a matte medium pink and really pretty.

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Translucent Powder 

I got this product almost a year ago! It is this really cute powder that has hearts all over it. It has a really nice smell and it is suppose to boost your mood. It is really good for the winter where it's grey and cold outside.

MAC Magically Cool Liquid Powder

This is a loose powder I got from Mac in the summer. It's honestly the most amazing powder. It is made with 70% water and feels cold when you put it on. I used this all summer, just put it under some moisturizer and your good to go! 

Covergirl Natureluxe Foundation 

I obviously love this foundation because I blog about it all the time! I like how it is lightweight but gives great coverage. I am almost done it so I am trying out a new one but I might end up going back if I don't like it as much.

Maybelline One by One Mascara 

I have tried a lot of mascara's this month and this is my favourite. I find that is lengthens and gives volume. It is always the one I reach for! 

Covergirl Shimmering Sands Eye Shadow Pallet 

I love the colours in this and I have used it a lot this year. It has dark, medium and a light brown. Perfect for a neutral eye!

MAC All That Glitters Eye Shadow

I haven't heard one person that doesn't like this eye shadow. It is a really pretty brown colour and can be used alone or in a look. MAC eye shadow's are also really good because they are extremely pigmented and wear for a long time. I find this is a great shadow to sweep on if I am running late or don't feel like doing my makeup. 

MAC Lipstick in Lustre Marquise D'

This has been my favourite lipstick for the entire year! I have worn it almost everyday. It is limited edition (wonder woman collection) but you might be able to find it somewhere. It is a nude pink colour and perfect for everyday. 

Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie 

This colour is so pretty! It is a dark pink. I also love how it is a lip butter so it is moisturizing but the colour also shows up unlike other lip butters.

EOS Lip Balm

I was wanting an EOS lip balm for such a long time and when I found them I was so happy! First off I love the packaging, it looks like an egg and is so adorable! I also love the different scents they have and it is really moisturizing.  

Justin Bieber Someday Perfume 

I am in LOVE with this! I have been obsessed with it since the summer but I didn't get it until Christmas. Usually I don't like celebratory scents but this one smells so good! I have been wearing it everyday.

That was my top 11 beauty products of 2011! 

And I just wanted to say thank-you for the 90 followers! I never thought I would get so many!! I just want to let you know when I get to 100 followers I will be having a giveaway! :D

I found this tag on elleandblair.com and I thought it would be fun to do! It is described as “a list of random things beauty and non-beauty and say which one you like better". 

Coke or Pepsi? I like coke better, I don't really like Pepsi. 

Ice Cream or Frozen Yogurt? Frozen yogurt. I don't usually have it because we don't have a frozen yogurt place so I eat ice cream more often. I really want to go to Pinkberry because that place looks amazing! My favourite part has to be all of the different toppings they have, so y u m m y <333 Does anyone know if there is a place like Pinkberry in Canada? 

Clothes or Makeup? Clothes. I buy clothes a lot more than I do makeup and I find it more fun to put together outfits. 

Hairspray or Frizz Lotion? Hairspray. I have never used frizz lotion! 

T.V or Book? Book. I love getting into a really book! Although, I probably watch more TV than read :( 

Pool or Beach? Both? I have never been to a 'real' beach, just a beach on a lake. I like them both the same, except I hate when the beach has a lot of seaweed, eeww. 

Water or Soda? Probably soda but I wish it was water. I drink more juice than soda though. I just don't like the taste of water, so I usually use crystal light or something. 

Sandals or Boots? Sandals, I love slipping on flip-flops and heading out. Also, gladiator sandals are really cute <3 

Purse or Backpack? Probably purse. 

Team Jacob or Team Edward? I have only seen the last one movie and never read the books, so it is kinda hard to pick. I can't remember who I like better...I sorta like them both. I think I like Edward better, but don't quote me! 

Wizards of Waverly Place or Hannah Montana? Wizards of Waverly Place, I love that show! I can't believe that it is over already! I still haven't seen the last episode, hopefully I will get to soon!!

Pretty Little Liars

SPOILER ALERT

If you haven't watched the newest episode don't read this because I might give away what happens in it!

Hey Guys! 

Originally I was just going to add this to another post I am doing but it was getting sorta long so I decided to make it it's own blog post, lol. 

As you know Pretty Little Liars was one last night and OMG! It was a such a good episode! I loved it <3

I really want Toby and Spencer to get back together! It breaks my heart </3 I don't really understand why she isn't getting back together with him. Is it just because she doesn't want him involved with the whole A thing anymore? Remember when they got those dolls last season? Hannah got one that said break up your fathers wedding, Aria got one that said she had to get Ezra's ex-girlfriend out of town (I forgot her name...), Emily got one with an address, and Spencer got one that said you have to keep Toby safe. What I don't get is Hannah's Dad ended up getting married and Aria didn't get the girl to go out of town, so why can't Toby ans Spencer get back together? I really hope they do in next week's episode! 

Plus, I can't believe Ezra told Aria's parents they were dating!! I think it might have been a good thing. Her parents were going to figure it out eventually (even Mike seemed suspicious when they ran into him, speaking of Mike he is really cute, haha) and isn't it better to find out from them than some stranger? Hopefully they will get over it, because Aria's dad basically did the same thing. 

I also can't believe they have A's cell phone!!! OMG!! They can totally figure out who he/she is now! Also, did you notice that A hit his/her arm on the car window and broke it? Maybe A will have a bandage on their hand next episode...hmm...But we are suppose to find out who A is by the end of this season! I think it might be Lucas..idk, I just find that he would be the person to play A, you know? Who do you think A is? 

  Anyway, I can hardly wait another week for the new episode to come out! Now that the show is back on, I think I might do some inspired looks from them. Like outfits and makeup :)

So, Lush had on the 2 for 1 sale the other day and I bought a few things that I thought I would share with you! Sadly a few of them are limited edition because they were from the holiday collection but they still could be available at Lush stores. 

Bath Bomb: Golden Wonder

This is one of the holiday products. It is a golden present and it rattles when you shake it because there is a present inside! Here is how the website describes it:

Bubble Bar: The Comforter 

I have been wanting this for awhile and I am really excited to try it out! It smells really yummy! I love how with bubble bars you can break them up so you can use them more than once Anyway, here is how the website discribes it:

This fruity bubble bar gives the feeling of being hugged by a jolly blackcurrant. When life is getting you down, crumble The Comforter under hot, running water for purple water and creamy bubbles. It was

Angels Delight Soap:

I can't find this online, but it is my favourite soap! It is fruity and has the prettiest colours like yellow, pink, orange, and glitter! I absolutely love this and I am really sad that is is limited edition :(

Happy New Year!

It is 2012! How crazy is that?? 2011 went by sooooo fast!

I hope everyone had a great new year's eve :) I just hung out with friends. We went skating, watched a movie, played a bored game and of course watched the ball drop in NYC! What did you guys do?

P.S Pretty Little Liars starts tomorrow!! I am so excited!! Does anyone watch that show?? :)
