Get The Look: Hit The Lights

Selena Gomez's new music video Hit The Lights came out a while ago.
I am in love with the song, her outfits (can I really just steal them? they are so cute!) and makeup! I have been playing around to try to get the look from this video. This is what I can up with:

Makeup
1) Apply your normal foundation.
2) Put concealer under your eyes and anywhere there is redness (On a side note, my favourite concealer maybelline dream mouse is being discontinued! Its the saddest this ever!!)
3) Apply any setting powder with a big fluffy brush.
4) Smile and apply some pink blush! :)
5) Apply a light brown eye shadow all over your lid going three fourths up (towards your brow).
6) Get a medium brown shadow (in between the light and the darkest brown you use) and put it on the outer half of the lid, blend it with the other colour (if you don't have a blending brush your finger always works).
7) Get a darker colour of brown and put it in the outer corner and blend it into your crease.
8) In the very outer corner get a black colour and put a little bit on the outter edge and draw a little line it towards your brow. This will create that wing Selena has in her video.
9) Use your finger to soften the shadows and add a highlight colour under your brow.
10) Apply eye liner to your top and bottom waterline. Also curl your lashes and apply mascara.
11) Her lips are a bright pink. MAC's Show Orchid is a hot pink lip stick, I think it fits this look really well! Any lipstick that is a bright/hot pink you have will work for this :)

Hair
She has a million different hairstyles in this! It really depends on you! You can have it curly, straight, up in a pony or colour extensions! :) If you are straightening it I suggest parting it in the middle.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and here is the music video if your interested in seeing it!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland: Top 3 Christmas Candles

Top 3 Winter Candles

Winter is here and my fall candles have just burned out, so it is time to stock up on some new ones! Yesterday I went to Bath and Body works and got a few new winter candles.

Sticky Toffee Pudding
This candle is a winner for the best recipe contest. On the lid it says winner and when you peel it there is directions on how to make sticky toffee pudding! Isn't that so cool (and scrumptious!)
This smells so good! I like how it smells like your actually baking something in the oven. Here is how the site describes it:

A rich, tempting treat that combines melted toffee, pure maple syrup and toasted pecans, topped with brown sugar and whipped cream.

Uhh, can I just eat it?

Candid Sugar Plum
My favourite thing about this candle is that its sugar plum. It reminds me of the book The Night Before Christmas. It is a very sweet but light sent. It is probably my favourite out of all 3 of these candles. It smells like candy and I find there is a bit of spice to it (but very light). Here is how the website describes it:

Rich, sugared plums and boysenberries are blended perfectly with sweet orange, cinnamon leaf and a touch of apple

Twisted Peppermint
This is probably one of the more classic winter scents. I am becoming more and more obsessed with peppermint, first the hot chocolate and now this. This basically smells like a candy cane and really christmassy. Here is the description from the website:

A refreshing mix of spearmint and mandarin, layered with iced peppermint, vanilla extract and sugar musk.

Those are my top 3 winter candles. One of my favourite things to do in the winter is to burn candles, so yummy and relaxing <3

What are your top 3 winter candles?

Review: Healthy Sexy Hair - Leave in Conditioner

Hey Everyone!
So, a few weeks ago I hunted down this leave in conditioner by Healthy Sexy Hair (it is from the popular brand Sexy Hair).
The main reason I was drawn to this product is because it prevents static electricity. My hair in the winter drives me crazy! I think it is just the dry heat in my house or at school, but if I run my fingers through it or use a scarf my hair clings to my face. Not fun. Since I started using it a few weeks ago I have had no issue with static electricity. I am so happy, I hope this continues to work with my hair :) I have tried a few different products mostly shampoo and conditioners but they haven't worked, so I give this a thumbs up!
This product also gives a lot of moisture to your hair. It says it helps with detangling but I didn't find it helped with my tangles very much. I have a separate detangler but this product didn't help me there. It could vary on different hair types though!
When using this product it is best to have damp hair. I like to spray it 4-6 times into the palm of my hair and apply it from my ears down. I only apply from my ears down because I don't like to put product on my roots because my hair tends to get oily quick and I'd rather avoid it becoming oily faster than it already is. This goes for all of my hair products except shampoo. You can obviously spray it directly on your hair if you'd rather that :) Once it is on you hair you just want to brush it out.
It also doesn't smell like anything, I wished it did just because I like scented hair products, LOL :)
This retails for $17 in Canada and I think around $14 in US and you can get it at any salon store. Mine was from Beauty Express, I am not sure if it is a chain or a local store. Also, where I got mine they had these 'baby' ones (probably for traveling) for only $2 and you can always try it out and see if you like it and if you do buy the normal size later!
Overall I give this product and 8.5/10.

I will have my nails of the week up tomorrow, I just painted them last night!
And Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American followers :) Hope you have a great (and yummy) thanksgiving!!

Weekend Fun !

Hey Everyone!
Sorry I haven't blogged in forever! I haven't been near my computer all weekend! I actually had a busy/fun weekend, so I thought I would share it with you guys :)

Friday
So, after school my friends and I went downtown and hung out. I got my first peppermint hot chocolate ever and omggggg I am in love! They are the greatest drinks ever! I am going to do a blog post on how to make them at home because that's all I have been drinking, haha.
Anyway, we ended seeing Breaking Dawn Part 1 (of the Twilight series) later that night. We had to get the tickets and wait awhile (around a hour) for the movie to start. I am not much of a Twilight fan, I have never read the books, or seen any of the other movies before. I just went to this one because I thought it looked good :) Anyway, the movie was soo good! It was funny, one part scared me (I can't remember what part, lol) and the ending was omg! That's all I can say about the ending o.m.g! Do I have to wait a year for the next one to come out?? Anyways, I am planing on reading the books and watching the rest of the movies because I was a bit lost through the movie, and there was references from the past films and I was like, huh? But it is really good and you should go see it if you haven't!

Saturday
I ended up going to the mall and coat shopping! Yay for winter! So, I got a ski jacket and it is pink and purple (of course!) it is fitted and really pretty <3 It was put the the test of warmth today, it was like -3 when I left this morning and went to a high of 0. I know I sound super wimpy, but I am not use to the cold yet :P  Maybe I can do an outfit of the day outside when its super cold , that would be fun!
On Saturday night my friends and I got some peppermint hot chocolate and went to the Santa Parade! It was sorta lame, nothing to special. I didn't end up taking any pictures because I still don't have a camera but I am getting one for Christmas and I will be taking a lot then!
After the parade we went to my friends house and had a slumber party! We order pizza, listened to music, played wii and talked. It was really fun! :)

Sunday
I went to my cousins baby shower for most of the day. My cousin lives out in the country so it is always nice to go out there :) And I noticed that all the leaves from the trees had fallen off! I am so slow, haha! Anyways, my cousins baby is sosososso cute <333 His name is Logan and is a month or so old. I got to hold him and he started crying :( but I guess he was just hungry, lol. We also got to play a lot of baby shower games and I tried so hard to win, but I didn't, oh well maybe next time! They also had this really yummy dip there and once I get the recipe I will do a post on it, honestly it is the best dip I have ever had!
When we got home I started my lab that was due the next day (leave it to me for doing homework at the last minute!). I probably looked like that cartoon! But I got it done in time! :D

So, that is pretty much my weekend :) I will start posting every other day again starting now! Haha, talk to you later!!

What did you do this weekend?

Hair Tutorial: Top Knot :)

Top Knots are quickly becoming one of my favourite hair styles! There are two ways I like to do my top knot: Normal (like in the picture above) and Braided. Also at the end I will give you tips on how to deal/avoid "hairaches"!

Top Knot
For a normal top knot you are going to need 2 elastics, bobby pins and hairspray (optional)
First flip your head upside down and brush your hair out.
Then collect your hair on the top of your head and put it into a ponytail.
Take your hair in the ponytail and twist it.
Eventually put your hair into a bun (by moving it around the elastic). Once it s how you like it tie it off with an elastic.
You can use the bobby pins if you hair is falling out or you want to fix it up a bit.
You can hair spray your top knot if you want it to look more polished or leave it and have it look more messy (personally, I like to have it messy).
You can also have it off center to make it look more fun!

Braided Top Knot
This is really similar to the top knot but has a little twist!
You will need 2-3 elastics (one small), bobby pins and hairspray (optional)
Flip your head upside down and brush out your hair.
Collect your hair at the top of your head and tie it in a ponytail.
Next, braid your hair and when your done tie it with a little elastic.
Then wrap it around the elastic.
You can secure it with bobby pins or another elastic.
You can make this look polished or messy just like the normal top knot.

How to Deal/Avoid a "Hairache"
After having your hair up all day can give you a "hairache". That's basically a headache but its just your scalp hurting. Here are some tips to deal with it:
- don't tie it tightly
- shower after you take it down
- massage your hair after you take it down
I know it is always a downside for me when I have my hair up.
If you have any other tips on how to avoid a "hairache" put them in the comments :)

That's how to do a top knot and a braided top knot :) Hopefully this was helpful!
And I don't think I am going to be doing any nails of the week this week because I am probably not going to be painting them (but maybe tomorrow, we will see!). Anyways, talk to you tomorrow!

Whats your favourite hair style?

My Lush Shopping List :)

Lush is one of my favourite bath shops :) It smells so yummy, it is like heaven on earth!
I don't go shopping there often so I made a list of things I want to get the next time I go. So, here is my shopping list :) and I might do a haul when I end up going shopping :D

Bath Bombs
- Cinders. I want to get this one because I heard Fleur talking about it in a lush haul and it sounded like it would smell really yummy. It is described as a sweet and spicy sent. It also has fizzy candy in it :)
- Satsumo Santa. I only want this because it is shaped as a Santa...but how cute is that?!
- Pink Bath Bomb. This is my all time favourite bath bomb! I get it every time I go. It is pink (obviously) and has 3 little flowers on the outside. It smells so good! The site describes the sent as pink bon-bons! And wanna know the best part? It turns the water PINK and a million little hearts are left in the water <3

Bubble Bars
- The Comforter. This is my favourtie smelling bubble bar. I have been wanting it for such a long time! It has pink and white swirls and it sorta in the shape of a square. The description says: gives the feeling of being hugged by a jolly blackcurrant, haha!
- Christmas Eve. I think I am going to get this an use it on Christmas Eve! How cute! I am so excited :) It is suppose to smell like jasmine and ylang ylang - yumm <3 Plus, it might have a golden ticket inside (I don't really know what happens when you find a golden ticket...but it must be good!)

Face Masks
- Cupcake. I really want to get this mask, if I do I will totally do a review on it! It is suppose to calm redness and deeply cleanse. It also smells super good - like all lush products!

That is all that is on my list. Hopefully I can get most of it but I will for sure get the Cupcake face mask and do a review, but I will do a mini haul even if I don't get a whole lot :)
And my nails of the week should be up tomorrow or the next day (probably the next day because I have dance tomorrow). Talk to you laterrr!

What's your favourite lush goodie? :)

My Starbucks Obsession

One of my favourite things about the holidays is Starbucks holiday drinks!
They are so yummy and I get really excited when they come out :D It just feels so christmasy (is that a word? well, its gonna be!).
I am not much of a plain coffee drinker. I usually get a cafe mocha or hot chocolate when I go to starbucks. But what I love about hoilday drinks is that there are so many to try! I am on the 'hunt' for the perfect holiday drink! I have been going to a Starbucks and getting a different holiday drink until I find the perfect one! So far I have only tired the Gingerbread Latte and Caramel Brulee Latte. I found the Gingerbread Latte didn't taste like I thought it would. I was expecting it to taste just like the cookie, but it didn't. I am not sure if they made a mistake but I was let down by it :( I also tried the Caramel Brulee Latte and it was good. It is very sweet, almost too sweet but overall I liked it.
The other holiday drinks include:
- Peppermint Mocha
- Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha
- Peppermint Hot Chocolate
- Eggnog Latte
- Caramel Brulee Frappuccino
- Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino

OMGHHKP, wanna hear my plan? I am going to get a Starbucks holiday drink and sit and watch the Santa Claus Parade :D That sounds like the warmest, yummiest Christmasy thing everrrr <33333 I should totally do a follow me around blog post on it! AHH! I am so exciteddddddd :D

I also heard that Starbucks are having a buy 1 holiday drink get 1 free from November 18 - 21!
It might only be in Canada but it is totally worth checking out your local Starbucks to see if it is happening there :)

What's your favourite holiday drink?

Also, when do you want me to start with the holiday blog posts? Like Nov.25 or the beginning of December?  Let me know :)

8 Most Worn Things!

Hey Everyone!
Today I am going to be doing the 8 most worn things tag!
If I had those shoes in the picture, that would be my most worn thing, they are so CUTE!
Anywho, here are my 8 most worn things :)

1) Most worn lipstick/lipgloss
I am going to be doing both the lipstick and lipgloss.
Lipstick: MAC Lustre Marquise D' (wonder woman collection)
Lipgloss: MAC Dazzelglass in Baby Sparks
These shades look so pretty together!

2) Most worn earrings
Well, this is a fairly easy one. I don't wear earrings. I got my ears pierced when I was in grade 1 or something and I didn't really like them so I stopped wearing them (I was a bit of a tomboy back then. haha). So, they grew over and I am debating on getting them re-pierced. I heard it hurts a lot to get them redone. Have any of you gotten your ears re-pierced?

3) Most worn shirt
I don't have a most worn shirt. But, my favourite shirt is a blue sweater from roots. It is really warm and cozy and has a blue beaver on the front and says roots :) I <3 it! (I actually might wear it tomorrow!)

4) Most worn nail polish
I have two: most worn in the summer and most worn in the winter.
My most worn nail polish in the summer is Essie's Smooth Sailing (limited edition). It is a blue colour and is really shimmery. It also looks really cute when you have your ring finger gold <3
My most worn nail polish in the winter is OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark. This colour should be coming up soon in my nail polish of the week post (check out this weeks nail polish here).

5) Most worn shoes
My Birkenstocks. If you are ever looking for a really comfy sandal check them out! I also like to wear them in the fall with socks (it looks cuter than it sounds, LOL!).

6) Most worn hair product
Probably my heat protectant :) I use Loreal Studio Silk & Gloss Hot Straight Smoothing Spritz.

7) Most worn perfume
My most worn perfume is Vera Wang Princess :)

8) Most worn handbag/purse
My most worn handbag/purse is my coach wristlet. I know its not technically a purse but I love it and I never go anywhere without it! :D

So that is my 8 most worn things! I tag whoever is reading this post :)
Talk to you tomorrow!

Who I Watch On Youtube: Beauty Guru Style :)

So, we all know what YouTube is. Well, I am a bit addicted to watching videos. Most of the videos I do watch are beauty related, but some is music and just peoples vlogs. Some times I reference them in a blog post and some of you might be "uhhhh, who is that?". Well, now you know it is just someone I watch on YouTube! :)
I will link their channels as well just in case you want to check out some of their videos.

AllThatGlitters21 (Elle Fowler) & Juicystar07 (Blair Fowler)
These are the first two beauty gurus I started watching on YouTube. They are sisters and are probably the most popular gurus on YouTube. I have seen almost every video of theirs!

Missglamorazzi (Ingrid)
She is one of my favourites, I LOVE her videos (and her vlogs are pretty funny, but I will leave that to another post). She also has a lot of helpful tips!

MacBarbie07 (Bethany)
This is another account I can not stop watching. I find her makeup videos are the best just because she is the closest to my age and has a lot of looks I would wear. She also has some great fashion tips. I have used a few of her videos in my blog posts :)

FleurDeForce (Fleur)
I just started watching her videos but they have quickly become a favourite. I found her through Ingrid and so happy I did :D

NikkiPhillippi (Nikki)
She is the funniest person ever! I love her personality and her videos are very entertaining and helpful :D

Other people I watch are meganheartsmakeupamarixe and glassslipperbeauty :)

This page is very blue from all the links! LOL :)
I hope this was helpful if you were looking for some new gurus to watch and hopefully you will gets some tips from their videos if you check them out!

Nails of the Week: Revlon Copper Penny

Every week I change up my nail polish! I thought it would be cute to start a new series of what nail polish I am wearing that week.

This week I am wearing Copper Penny by Revlon. I normally don'y go for Revlon nail polishes just because I don't know how good they are (how long it will take to chip, ect). But missglamorazzi was taking about it and I thought the colour was so cute! So I tired it out and so far I am in love! I went on really well and I only needed 1 coat (but you can do two).
The colour is metallic and copper! Haha, I am great at describing things, aren't I? Overall It is really pretty :)
I don't know how long it will take to chip though, I will tweet when it does (if you don't already follow my twitter click here).

Find a penny, pick it up, and the rest of the day have good luck!

What nail polish are you wearing this week?

10 Most Wanted

Instead of doing a favourites post this month I decided to mix it up by doing a 10 Most Wanted post! I am not doing a favourites post because my camera broke and I only have 2 beauty favourites so I am probably going to save them for my november favourites : )
Anywho, this post is just going to be on the 10 things I want most at the moment:

number one: new boots

Winter is quickly coming and I am clueless on what boots to buy this year! I was thinking UGGs but I am not sure of how good they are for the snow (like leaking and that sort of thing).
Let me know what boots your wearing in the comments below!

number two: a new coat

Haha, a lot of this is winter stuff! I haven't gotten the chance to go shopping yet!
So, one of my favourite winter coats of all time are the TNA coats. I saw people wearing them all the time last year and they just looked so cute <3
I am also thinking about getting a ski jacket, but I can't really decide...

number three: healthy sexy hair soy tri-wheat leave in conditioner

My hair tends to get really staticy/dry in the winter. So, I was watching missglamorazzi's newest video and she mentioned that it helps with staticy hair. So, I am going to try to find it and I really hope it works :) I will do a review on it if I end up finding it!

number four: moroccan oil
Recently I have been straightening my hair a lot, so I was wanting to get moroccan oil just to make it more soft and silky. I also heard it smells really yummy!

number five: victoria secret's pink hoodie and sweatpants
I really like the Pink line and I have been wanting to get something from it for a long time now. The reason that I haven't gotten the chance to get anything is because there is no Victoria Secret where I live. I am probably going to ask for it for Christmas. But yeah, I have been really getting into wearing cozy clothes at home :)

number six: bow ring
This ring is from Kate Spade and I really love it! It is so cute <3 I have been wanting a basic ring for a while now and I fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it! I like how it can match any outfit and it isn't to over the top.

number seven: a new camera
I really need a new camera and I am hoping I get one for Christmas! If yo have any suggestions please put it in the comments below :)

number eight: eos lip balm
EOS has a limited edition balm out called strawberry sorbet. It is seems like it would be so yummy! I really want it but I don't think I will be able to get it because I doubt I will be able to find it, but you never know!

number nine: bobbie brown makeup manual
I recently flipped through this book and I absolutely love it! This is probably number one on my shopping list!

number ten: a kitten!
I have been wanting a kitten for such a long time. They are so cute and fluffy! <3

So that is my 10 most wanted :) As you may have noticed I have started to blog every other day (before I was blogging everyday). This is just because I have been running out of ideas and busy with homework. So yeah that's about it, I will talk to you later! :D

Whats on your most wanted list?

Music: Under The Mistletoe

Hey Everyone!
So, as you may already know Justin Bieber's newest CD came out yesterday!
I bought it on iTunes and I have been listening to it a lot :) The CD has 15 tracks and a music video for the song 'Mistletoe'.
Here is a list of the songs:
Only Thing I ever Got for Christmas
Mistletoe
The Christmas Song
Santa Claus Is Coming to Town
Fa La La (2 versions one A cappella)
All I Want for Christmas Is You
Drummer Boy
Christmas Eve
All I Want Is You
Home This Christmas
Silent Night
Christmas Love
Pray
Someday At Christmas

The CD has a lot of new songs, classic Christmas songs and some with a twist (like Drummer Boy). I was actually really pleased with CD, I think the variety is great and it is perfect for Christmas! It also features a lot different artists like Mariah Carey, Boys 11 Men, The Band Perry, Busta Rhymes, and of course Usher!
Overall I think it is his best album yet!
My favourite songs include Drummer Boy, Fa La La (A cappella ), and All I Want for Christmas is You. I think he has made some instant holiday classics!
I am so excited to hear what he has in store next! (A new album Believe next spring I hear)

Check Out His Music Video 'Mistletoe'

Will you be listening to Under The Mistletoe this Christmas? :)
